PAMPAS TOUR AHE 01

Northeast of the city of La Paz in the Province of Beni, is Rurrenabaque, situated on the shores of the great Beni River. It is known for its jungle environment, the unique landscape of the Bolivian Amazon. When you cross this river you come to San Buenaventura (Province of La Paz). You have to pass here to enter Madidi National Park. Rurrenabaque is located 426 Km from La Paz. To get there you can go by land (17 hours travel) or air (1 hour travel). From Rurrenabaque different tours are available to explore the Pampas where you can experience fauna and jungle which is characterized by abundant flora.

PROGRAM

Day 01: La Paz - Rurrenabaque – Pampas: After you meet with our guide at the airport in Rurrenabaque (232 m.a.s.l.). We start the tour at 08:30 a.m. we’ll take the jeep for the trip to Santa Rosa for about 4 hours. Santa Rosa is a small village and we’ll get there at the middle of the day just to have lunch, one hour later, we reach to the boat, we’ll go by it on the Yacuma river for 3 hours and half going slowly meanwhile we’ll see many kinds of animals like: Alligators, turtles, capuchino and Ichilo monkeys, capybaras, pink dolphins and more than four hundreds kind of birds we’ll get the campsite before it gets dark, once we have arrived in the place the guide will show you all about the camping (The beds, mattress, sheet and mosquito nets for every one) later on at 7:00 p.m. you will have dinner, one hour after you will go by boat with the guide in the darkness every one has to take flash light or torch because you will look for alligators and see how their eyes shine from the dark side of the river and if you want the guide will catch one alligator just to show you and give you some pictures but just for a while cause the guide has to leave into the water again. You will get back to the camping site to get rest and sleep.

Day 02: Excursion in Pampas: We’ll wake up at 7:30 a.m. the we’ll have breakfast after that almost one hour you will go by boat with the guide a short distance on the river and then you will walk for 3 or 4 hours on the Pampas  looking for the famous anaconda or the cobra, the pampas is a flat place full of high grass “sabana” place where you will see some snakes as well the guide will catch one just to show, after that at about 11:30 a.m. you’ll get back to the camping to have lunch, after it we’ll give you 2 o 3 hours to take a little nap or just to rest cause you will be tired after walking all the long morning, later, in the afternoon 3:00 p.m. the guide will take you by boat a good place in the Yacuma river for piranha fishing, you are going to have enough time to fish and after it you will appreciate the sunset then you’ll get back to the camp and have dinner.

Day 03: Pampas – Rurrenabaque – La Paz: We’ll wake up in the morning cause you will go to see the sunrise whit the guide then we’ll get to the camping to have breakfast, after we go by boat to see a small jungle that we have in Pampas where we will go swimming with pink dolphins in a special and wide place in the Yacuma river after it you will get back to the camping to have lunch. You can also see sloths, blue and red macaws, badgers, deer, alligators, toucans, etc.  Later, you have one hour to get ready and take you back to Santa Rosa port where the jeep will wait for you to come back to Rurrenabaque and arrival at 17: 00. Flight back to La Paz at: 18:05 arrival to La Paz transfer to your hotel and end of our services.
