About Us     Contact

This tour begins at the access to the town of Millipaya. Leaving La Paz we take the highway which goes through the sleepy town of Huarina. Following a good road we divert until arriving at the historical city of Achacachi, which existed before the arrival of the Spaniards. Continuing the trip we ascend from 3.650 m. until the lake at 3.800 m. and then on to our maximum height of 4.300 mts. at the summit (el Cumbre). Here we travel down a further 20 mins before we leave our transport and begin our trek by the secondary road, walking until we find the path that will lead us past panoramic sectors. We will observe different agricultural terraces, cornfields, beans, and potatoes among the main products.

Day 01: La Paz city – Cumbre – Cochipata Village (4.670 m. – 2.700 m.): Departure from La Paz by car we arrive at la Cumbre at an altitude of 4.670m. From here we descend for approximately 20 min until we reach the path that will take us from the cold mountainous zone down into a more temperate climate. On the way we will be able to observe different agricultural systems such as terraces and maize fields. In the afternoon we will arrive at the village of Cochipata at 2.700m where we will set up camp on the banks of the scenic San Cristobal River.

Day 02: San Pedro Caves – La Paz (3.650 m): Today we continue our trek through a nicer and warmer climate. Witness the changes in vegetation as we approach the town of Sorata around mid-day. In the afternoon we will explore the San Pedro cave where you will be marvelled by the stalactite and stalagmite formations suspended from the cave’s ceiling and floor. Following our little adventure we return to La Paz in our vehicle, arrival to your hotel and end of our services.
