The Chachacomani and Chearoco massif situated between the Illampu, Jankohuma and the Condoriri groups. It has one of the most difficult access routes and remains the least explored area of the Bolivian Andes. It holds a magnetic appeal for locals of the region. Many of their houses are found close to frozen lakes and moraines at 5.300m, during the glacial retreat of the quaternary period, innumerable chaotic valleys and sub valleys were formed, which make finding a way to the mountain a challenge.

The first description of this mountain comes from the 1929 French expedition of Lagrange.  The Chachacomani a 6.000 m high mountain not very well known located to the north of the Royal Mountain Range. It is a summit of difficult access, but it is worth the effort to climb it because it is 6.000 m.

Day 01: La Paz – Lloco Loconi (4.450m) – Leche Khota (4.600m): We leave La Paz by private vehicle through the route that takes to the Titicaca Lake. We enter into the Royal Mountain Range, taking a road that passes before magnificent lagoons (Kara Khota, Khotia, and Janko Khota) and crosses a pass at 4.990m. After four hours on the route, we arrive to Lloco Lloconi at the base of the Janko Lacaya Mountain; from there we do the approach for 5 hours to the base camp of Leche Khota. – We set up the tents.

Day 02: Leche Khota – High Camp (5.200m): The ascent to the high camp of Chachacomani (around 5 hours) begins with a relatively difficult slope to reach the glacier moraine and immediately continue on the glacier at the base of the Chachacomani where we set the high camp.

Day 03: High Camp – Chachacomani (6.074m): Early in the morning we are ready for Chachacomani summit, it is reached approximately in 7 hours from the high camp. The descent to the base camp is completed in 5 hours. Night camping.

Day 04: Leche Khota – Lloco Lloconi (4450m) – La Paz: From Leche Khota we descent to Lloco Loconi and from there we return to La Paz.
