This peak is at the southern end of the Cordillera Apolobamba, close to the Peruvian border, just north of Lake Titikaka (3810m). Akamaniis the scared mountain of the Kallawayas, an indigenous culture of doctors still found in the region today. This is still a very remote region of Bolivia, it is beautiful, and life continues in a traditional way with the area largely being untouched by modern society, which makes for a memorable experience.
